Toys for Therapy

Julia Schmidt, Master 2018

How to create a tool that supports a patient’s independent rehabilitation process for hand therapy and strikes a balance between the analogue and the digital world? The physical exercise objects have a restrained design and in combination with a motion sensor can track the patient’s movement patterns. The digital handbook allows patients to record
these movements and is connected to their personal music library. While exercising to their favourite music, patients receive auditive feedback. The basic principle of communicating feedback is the play with harmony and disharmony.
